Space
Little Miss, from Houston, Texas, would like to see more
space in the world.
Little Miss's mother had given this word on behalf of the rapidly growing baby in her womb. Joyce H showed this word on the plinth, shortly before learning that Little Miss had achieved more space, being born as granddaughter Madeleine in Houston! Houston is, of course, control centre of the NASA Space programme.

First-time grandmother on the plinth
Joyce H became a grandmother during her time on the plinth.
If you watch the recording (on the One and Other website) you can see her becoming rather excited and jumping up and down when she received the news that she was a grandmother for the first time.
Here is her new granddaughter, Madeleine, soon after she was born in Houston, Texas.

94 Words
In her hour on the plinth, Joyce H gave voice to 86 of the 94 words she had received from family and friends. Here is a selection; they will be published individually on the blog.
Don't forget you can send in your own word (use the comments box or email in1word@ymail.com)
- your word
- your name
- your location (region, country)
- and say - in one sentence - why you have chosen this word.
